JENNIE
Associate Voice Teacher
Jennie Colabatistto is a professional vocalist and music teacher based in the Westchester, NY region. Jennie has been teaching voice and beginner piano for various NY music schools, as well as her own private students for the past two years. She has experience teaching all genres and styles of music, her specialties being musical theatre, jazz, and soul.
Jennie studied voice privately for nearly twenty years before going on to pursue music professionally. She studied with teachers from a variety of backgrounds, including Nancy Auffarth (Broadway performer), Mark Womack (professional Opera singer), and June Thomas (professional Jazz and RNB singer). She also studied for a year at the music conservatory at the Hartt School of Music and graduated with a liberal arts BA from Muhlenberg College.
In addition to teaching, Jennie has been a working singer since 2018. She performs in festivals, wineries, restaurants, private parties/events and other music venues. Jennie is the lead singer of her own groups Jennie’s Jazz Trio and the Jennie C Band, as well as the Hudson Valley’s 7 piece funk and soul band, In the Pocket. She has been hired to sing for a variety of other projects in the past few years. She has won many singing awards over the years, most notably the PA Jazz Idol Vocal Soloist Award in 2017. In 2019, she earned a spot performing in the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival.
Jennie is very excited and honored to be a part of Chelsea’s team! She enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of singing with students. Jennie seeks to encourage her students to find their voice through singing and foster a passion for music.
