About the Kid's class:

Calling all music-makers!

Musicianship is all the extra skills that go into singing: good dynamics, phrasing, rhythm, and intonation… and it’s time to get to work!

Get ready for an interactive class that will include children’s songs and games designed with developing their musicianship in mind. Meg will lead students through a discovery of the basics of rhythm and melody, giving them all they need to succeed as they grow through their musical journey -

which is only getting started!

About the Adult's class:

You know the words, you know the notes, now let’s dig deeper.

Musicianship is everything that enhances your style: dynamics, phrasing, rhythm, and intonation. Join Meg for a class delving into exactly what that means and how you can practice good musicianship on your own to bring more to the table every practice session, lesson, and performance.

In this class you’ll learn tools that you can take into every song you work on and speed up the process of learning notes and rhythms through quick activities to stimulate all those musical juices in your brain.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER...

Meg Markwith is a Connecticut based musician with a passion for building students into well-rounded musicians. She holds a Bachelor of Music in oboe performance from the University of Hartford’s The Hartt School and a Master of Education in Kodály Music Education from Loyola University Maryland. Since graduation, Meg has performed in many ensembles as well as cultivating a love of teaching. She has worked with vocalists in private and group settings from childhood to adulthood, and has found joy in watching her students grow in skill and confidence.

From musical theater to pop music, Meg is most inspired when working on repertoire that her students love.

She looks forward to building a strong foundation that her students can take to any style of music, be it in a casual setting or professionally. Students who are looking for a comprehensive lesson in which they can better their vocal skills and overall musicianship will love their lessons with Meg!
